A five-year-old boy was killed in North West Delhi’s Haiderpur allegedly after a truck hit him on Sunday, the police said. The police filed an FIR under Sections 281 (rash or negligent driving) and 106(1) (rash or negligent driving not amounting to culpable homicide) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita against the driver, who is on the run. The police, upon receiving the information, reached the spot at Max Wala Road, in front of Lohia Camp and found the child was severely injured. He was shifted to BJRM Hospital at Jahangirpuri, where the doctor declared him dead on arrival. An eyewitness informed the police that the accident occurred due to the “rash” and “negligent” driving of the vehicle by the driver. The driver was identified as Ajay Kumar Das, 32, a resident of Shalimar Bagh, the police said. Further investigation is under way, the police said.
