The State Bank of India Amaravati Circle on Sunday performed Bhoomi Pooja for the construction of its proposed Local Head Office building in Amaravati, marking a major milestone in the bank’s long-term commitment to Andhra Pradesh.

SBI Chairman Challa Sreenivasulu Setty led the ceremony in the presence of Chief General Manager Rajesh Kumar Patel and other senior officials, a bank release said.

The proposed Local Head Office building is envisioned as a landmark project, reflecting SBI’s strategic vision and its continued support to the administrative and economic growth of the State. Mr. Setty said the new LHO would strengthen the bank’s institutional presence in Amaravati and reaffirm its close partnership with the government and local communities in fostering inclusive and sustainable development.

As part of the event, SBI Amaravati Circle also launched two major Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives to strengthen healthcare infrastructure in the region. Mr. Setty handed over a cheque for ₹4.12 crore, through SBI Foundation, to Government General Hospital, Guntur, for the procurement and installation of advanced medical equipment for the hospital’s Cardiology Department, the release added.
