The EAGLE Force and Khammam I Town Police busted a drug distribution network and arrested four persons for sale and possession of narcotic substances in Khammam district. Also, a drugs consumer was apprehended during a surprise check at a pub in Jubilee Hills.

Police apprehended SK Abdul Rahman, 26, a cab driver, MD Sami Uddin alias Sohel, 19, a labourer, Manne Saiteja, 28, a student, all residents of Khammam, and Maloth Upendar, 40, a medical shop owner from Maripeda in Mahabubabad district.

According to police, Rahman and Sami Uddin are habitual consumers of marijuana and narcotic tablets and had been procuring the contraband from a supplier identified as Guru Shankar from villages in the Seeleru region. The substance was allegedly transported to Khammam, where it was consumed and also repackaged into small packets for sale. Saiteja was said to have purchased marijuana from them.

Rahman also sourced Alprazolam tablets without a prescription from Upendar, and sold them at higher prices. During the operation, police seized marijuana, Alprazolam tablets, Tramadol tablets, cash, mobile phones and a two wheeler from the accused.

In the other case, Hyderabad Narcotics Police raided a pub at Jubilee Hills, and held Maradani Ajay, who tested positive for marijuana. A probe is on to identify the supplier.
