Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) Commissioner Ketan Garg on Sunday (February 08, 2026) directed the officials concerned to speed up the proposed road connectivity works from the city to Bhogapuram International Airport. The Commissioner inspected the ongoing works in Pendurthi region along with GVMC Chief Engineer P. V. Satyanarayana Raju, Chief City Planner A. Prabhakara Rao, and other Engineering wing officials. Mr. Ketan Garg first inspected the 6.15-km road from Vepagunta to Juttada and reviewed the progress of works. He contacted the concerned authorities of Visakhapatnam Metropolitan Region Development Authority (VMRDA), Forest Department, Defence, and EPDCL over the phone and instructed them to resolve the pending issues and ensure the roads were completed at the earliest. Later, he also inspected the 3.92 km road from Vepagunta Junction to Pinagadi Junction. He stated that the connectivity roads from Vepagunta to Juttada and from Vepagunta to Pinagadi have been proposed to facilitate smooth movement of people and vehicles from that region to Bhogapuram International Airport. He directed the Engineering and Town Planning officials to ensure that the works are completed without delay and to coordinate promptly with the concerned departments wherever issues arise.
