In the evening, Corporation officials carried out checks at a spa near Statue junction following a complaint received from a woman that the owner of the spa had attempted to attack her when she went there for a job interview. Mr. Rajesh said that he had asked the Secretary to check the licenses issued to spas in the city. The civic body will carry out checks in all spas. “Cross massaging, the practice of women massaging for men and vice versa, will not be allowed. As per the information we got, it is happening in several spas. It is mandatory that a masseur and a doctor should be present in the spa. But in many places, authorised masseurs or doctors are not present. The Corporation will in association with the police department carry out checks in the spas,” said Mr. Rajesh.
