Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on Wednesday extended New Year greetings to the people of the State, wishing them a year filled with peace, harmony, and happiness.

Mr. Stalin said in a statement that 2025 was a successful year for Tamil Nadu in many ways — it was a significant year for the development of Tamil, and the State was recognised for its GSDP growth rate, which strengthens its dream of becoming a one-trillion-dollar economy by 2030.

He added that 2025 was filled with welfare schemes catering to various sections of the society, including women, farmers, students, persons with disabilities, fishermen, traders, weavers, entrepreneurs, and sportspersons.

The Chief Minister also listed the developments in some of the flagship initiatives of the State government, including Kalaignar Kanavu Illam, Ungaludan Stalin, Nalam Kaakkum Stalin, Chief Minister’s Breakfast Scheme, and Kalaignar Magalir Urimai Thittam

“From mobilising forces across India against the threat of delimitation, protecting people’s voting rights from the Special Intensive Revision of electoral roll conspiracy, constituting a high-level panel for State autonomy, releasing the State Education Policy, asserting Tamil Nadu’s rightful demand for education funds, to securing a historic verdict in the Supreme Court against the overreach of the powers of the Governor, the fight for the State’s rights continued unabated,” Mr. Stalin said.
