Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address a public meeting organised by the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in Madurai on March 1, the BJP State president Nainar Nagenthran said.

After flagging off the Namo Trophy Salem Marathon at Mahatma Gandhi Stadium in Salem on Sunday, Mr. Nagenthran said the Prime Minister’s visit to the State, which was scheduled on February 28, was postponed to March 1 and that Mr. Modi would participate in a public meeting.

Five lakh cadre participated in the Maduranthagam meeting, which has energised people to seek a change in power in Tamil Nadu. There is a possibility of new parties joining the NDA. A committee has not yet been announced to facilitate talks for bringing new parties into NDA. “There is still time for elections and when the time comes, talks on seat allocation and candidate selection will happen,” he said.
