Andhra Pradesh State Commission for Scheduled Castes member Ravada Seetharam on Sunday (February 08, 2026) urged officials of the Panchayat Department to ensure better civic amenities in all colonies inhabited by people from the Scheduled Castes community. He said that the Commission received several petitions, requesting for internal roads, drainage system, garbage management, and others. He visited several SC colonies of Cheepurupalli, Rajam, Palakonda, Etcherla, and other places to review sanitation and other issues. He urged the mandal parishad development officers and panchayat officers to ensure drinking water facilities in all those colonies as many villages do not have access to potable water. “The officials are also requested to take up repairs of all borewells and handpumps before the commencement of summer. The drainage pipelines can be laid in summer season,” said Mr. Seethram.
