Artificial Intelligence (AI) can become a great solution to provide efficient healthcare to a large population, said Girish Krishnamurthy, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Tata Medical and Diagnostics.

Speaking at the inaugural of Vision to Value Conclave 1.0, organised in Coimbatore city on Saturday by the Rotary Coimbatore Ikons, Mr. Krishnamurthy said adoption of AI in the healthcare delivery system will make people healthier and make the economic aspirations of the country possible. The public healthcare delivery system that was available before the 1970s delivered results at the village and district levels. However, in the last few decades there is increase in lifestyle-related diseases and change in the healthcare delivery systems. What is needed is continuous, connected, and pro-active care that is close to the patient. “The care model should be patient centric,” he said.

The entire healthcare delivery system should become smarter and efficient with adoption of technology, he added.

Managing Director of Elgi Equipments, Jairam Varadaraj, said every business has a global opportunity today and when a business is led by purpose, profit has a strong anchor. During the journey of a company, at some point, purpose should become the focal point. It is also important for all businesses to build equity in the company, he added.

L.V. Navaneeth, Chief Executive Officer of The Hindu, said there should be a blend of people, product, and processes and the role of the leadership is to know oneself, know the people in the organisation, get the people to know each other, and get outsiders to know the people in the organisation.

According to the chair of conclave, Hari Padmanabhan, the aim of the event is to have conversations that will spark ideas and inspire actions.
