Mangaluru International Airport. | Photo Credit: FILE PHOTO Mangaluru International Airport, managed by Mangaluru International Airport Limited (MgIAL), handled a record 2,45,708 passengers in January, 2026. It was the highest monthly passengers handled by the airport since the commercial operation date (CoD) of the airport on October 31, 2020. Of the passengers who used the airport last month, 1,63,966 were domestic and 81,742 were international. Of the total 1,624 air traffic movements recorded for the month, 1,141 were domestic, 425 international and 58 general aviation, the airport posted on social media. “A grand beginning to 2026, #MangaluruAirport setting a new monthly benchmark in January. The month’s passenger traffic and aircraft movements reflect our expanding global footprint and commitment to seamless connectivity,” the airport posted. “Highest total aircraft movements recorded overall, with the highest General Aviation and international movements, respectively, since CoD,” the airport said.
