Former DMK Madurai Corporation zonal chairman V.K. Gurusamy on Saturday complained that the police were preventing him from meeting Chief Minister M.K. Stalin who is coming to Madurai on Saturday. Talking to reporters, Mr. Gurusamy said that he had some grievances to be redressed by the Chief Minister and the police were not allowing him to meet him. Mr. Gurusamy said that police had not taken action against the assailants who had attempted on his life at Bengaluru two years back. Claiming that his family has lost eight persons in the gang rivalry against former AIADMK Corporation zonal chairman Rajapandi, Mr. Gurusamy alleged that one of his relatives was picked up by the police and “shot him down” in the guise of an encounter. The police were threatening to withdraw security for him, he accused, adding that his life was under threat. However, one of his rivals was allowed by the authorities to use phone inside jail, he said.
