A 17-year-old youth, who was undergoing treatment after being gored by a bull during a jallikattu held at Kulamangalam village in Pudukottai district on February 2, died on Friday. According to police sources, the deceased, S. Chinnayya, was watching the jallikattu when a bull gored him, causing grievous injuries to his neck. He was administered first aid by the medical team stationed at the venue and was later referred to Thanjavur Government Medical College Hospital for treatment. However, he succumbed to his injuries on Friday evening. The body was handed over to the victim’s family after the post-mortem. The Panayapatti police have registered a case under Section 194 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), sources said.
