A suicide blast struck a Shiite mosque in Islamabad during Friday prayers on February 6, 2026, killing at least 31 people and injuring 169. The Islamic State claimed responsibility. Security sources said the attacker detonated himself at the gate after a brief gunfight. The attack is the deadliest in Pakistan’s capital since 2008.
