Appanna Hegde passed away at a private hospital in Udupi on February 7 morning. He was 90. He is survived by two sons and three daughters. Mr. Hegde was MLA of Byndoor Assembly constituency, representing the then Janata Party, from 1983 to 1985. He had served as president of the managing committee of Kolluru Mookambika temple and Basruru Mahalingeshwara temple.
