The Hyderabad Disaster Response & Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA), through three different operations on Friday, removed several illegal structures and encroachments at Borabanda, Dulapally and Nagaram. At Dulapally village in Dundigal-Gandimaisamma mandal of Medchal-Malkajgiri district, HYDRAA forces pulled down structures from the full tank level (FTL) of a water body, Sumaru Kunta. Several establishments including hotels, scrap shops, container assembling units and welding shops were set up in temporary structures inside the FTL of the lake in the name of patta land, shrinking the extent of the water body. Through HYDRAA operation, 11 acres of FTL have been freed, a statement informed, clarifying that the patta lands in FTL may be used only for agriculture when water recedes. At Borabanda, HYDRAA officials cleared encroachments from 3.2 acres of government land, which was obtained under the Urban Land (Ceiling and Regulation) Act, 1976. A case has been filed against an alleged encroacher, Sharif Khan, at Borabanda police station, for trying to usurp 3,600 square yards of this land using fake documents. HYDRAA has removed temporary structures from the land, along with sand and brick units. At Ramakrishna Nagar Colony in Nagaram village of Keesara mandal in Medchal-Malkajgiri district, HYDRAA has reclaimed 1,365 square yards of land allocated to a temple. While the temple was constructed on 400 square yards, the remaining land was sought to be usurped by a few locals, the statement said and informed that HYDRAA erected signboards indicating that the land belonged to the temple.
