Special Chief Secretary to Government, Home Department, C. V. Anand, visited the Directorate of Prosecution on Friday as part of the field visits by secretaries to heads of departments directed by the State government. During the visit, Mr. Anand inaugurated the e-Office application for the Directorate of Prosecution. He said the initiative was in line with the Telangana Rising 2047 vision and aimed at ensuring paperless governance, faster disposal of files and improved administrative decision making. He added that the move would help enhance the quality and pace of governance and contribute to the overall development of the State. On the same occasion, he also inaugurated the Facial Recognition Attendance Management System for the Directorate of Prosecution. He said the system would improve efficiency, accountability and regular attendance, while enabling electronic maintenance of attendance records as part of the government’s e-Governance and digitalisation initiatives. Mr. Anand later held a review meeting with the Director of Prosecution and officers of the Directorate and advised them to ensure speedy disposal of files and further strengthen administrative efficiency. Director of Prosecution, S. Sambasiva Reddy, made a detailed presentation on the functioning of the department, outlining its initiatives and achievements, and sought government support on certain issues, to which the Special Chief Secretary responded positively. The Special Chief Secretary also reviewed the implementation of the new criminal laws and appreciated the efforts of prosecutors in drafting circulars, standard operating procedures, government orders and related guidelines. He offered guidance on steps required for effective implementation of the new laws.
