The University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, the U.K., has launched a M.Sc. in Public Health and Social Innovation programme, starting this September.

The University of Wollongong (UOW) India, Gift City Campus, has announced the Kalyani Brahmbhatt Memorial Merit Scholarship.

Eligibility: Students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds, whose family income is below Rs. 500,000 per annum and who have scored minimum 75% in the most recent qualifying exam, and are pursuing full-time, on-campus UG and PG degrees at the university.

The British Council invites applications for the British Council Scholarships for Women in STEM for the 2026–27 academic year, part of the British Council’s Going Global Partnerships. For 2026–27, 25 fully-funded postgraduate scholarships are available to applicants from South Asia, including India, in partnership with five universities in the U.K.: University of Edinburgh, University of Glasgow, University of Manchester, Queen Mary University of London and Brunel University London. Each scholarship is valued at least £40,000 and includes full tuition fees, living stipends, travel and visa costs, health coverage fees, and English language support where required. iHub-Data at IIIT Hyderabad has launched a six-month intensive training programme in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI/ML), for women engineers

IIT Gandhinagar has launched the AI Resilience and Command (ARC) Centre to use AI and physics-based modelling for real-time flood assessment, scenario analysis, and decision support for urban systems.

KJ Somaiya Institute of Management and Loughborough University, the U.K., hosted a dialogue on challenges in women’s football in India, offering students exposure to research, leadership, international models, projects, internships, and mentorship opportunities.

Great Lakes Institute of Management, Chennai, has launched a Centre for AI in Business to serve as a shared platform for industry, faculty, and students to co-create applied AI solutions. The institution also hosted the second Dr. Bala V. Balachandran Memorial Lecture Vijay Govindarajan, Coxe Distinguished Professor of Management at the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth, the U.S. He spoke on Fusion Strategy: Data and AI for Strategic Advantage.

Leverage Edu has launched Leverage Online to offer employability-focused learning through accredited online degrees, professional certifications, and specialised programmes, in partnership with universities such as Manipal University Jaipur, Sikkim Manipal University, and UPES. 

Researchers from IIM Lucknow, Canada’s Brock University, Ontario; Cleveland State University, Ohio, and St. Cloud State University, Minnesota, the U.S., studied the ethical implications of AI in marketing. The findings were published in the American Business Review.

Battery Smart concluded its first hackathon, HackSmart, held in association with Amazon Web Services. Five teams were declared winners from over 1000 registrations.

Witty International School, Malad, Mumbai, hosted 15 French students under its French Global Student Exchange Programme, integrating them into regular classrooms, co-curricular activities and host homes. 

IIIT Delhi, with Mastercard and IIT-Delhi’s Yardi School of AI, hosted a symposium on AI in finance, payments, and security. Virohan and AIIMS Nagpur hosted a panel discussion on the Role of Allied Health in Viksit Bharat 2047. Speakers included Dr. Umanjali Damke, Chairperson, Maharashtra State Allied & Healthcare Council; Dr. Prashant P. Somany Ceramics collaborated with Sharda University, Greater Noida on a project titled Transforming Broken Tiles into Trendsetting Style, which aimed to promote recycling of waste tiles into pieces of art. Twenty-eight students from the university’s School of Design repurposed discarded tiles into works of art and helped spread awareness about the importance of recycling. 

Awards 

KL Deemed to be University won the Water Stewardship category, in the inaugural CII–SR Industrial Climate Action Competition during the 2nd Edition of the Energy Transition Summit, for its technology-driven water management model.

Rouble Nagi, a teacher from India, won the 2026 GEMS Education Global Teacher Prize for her initiative Misaal India, which provides doorstep education to underserved communities and skill centres that empower women financially.

Manthan School students were recognised at the Cambridge Outstanding Learner Awards, for the fourth consecutive year. Hansini and Ishan (A Level) students were awarded Outstanding Performance in Economics and Exceptional Achievement Award in Chemistry, respectively.

SIP Academy India concluded the national finals of the 10th SIP Arithmetic Genius Contest (AGC) 2025. Raahi Arpit Agrawal and Mitansh Abhay Agrawal from Amrishbhai R. Patel School, Maharashtra; Md Fahim Abrar from Nava Nalanda Santiniketan, West Bengal; Monojit Pal from Sri Krishna Mission School, Tripura, and Aniket Saha from Assam, were declared the champions.

Ar. Uthpala Kiran, M.Arch student from Gopalan School of Architecture and Planning, was awarded the gold medal from Visvesvaraya Technological University for 2024–25.

Fortune Institute of International Business was named a Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME) Champion for 2026–27, for its commitment to integrating sustainability, ethics, and social responsibility into Management education.

NIT Rourkela received its 101st patent. With this, it now has 97 national and four international patents.

Collaborations

BITS-Pilani WILP and Siemens EDA have partnered to launch Joint Certification Programmes in PCB Design and Analysis, to strengthen India’s electronics and semiconductor talent ecosystem.

IIT Tirupati signed an MoU with Aadit Fire Testing Laboratory to research fire effects on building structures and materials, aiming to enhance safety, building codes, and fire-resilient design practices for high-rise buildings.

IIM Kashipur partnered with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India to enhance skill development and competencies of Chartered Accountants through collaborative programmes and practical case studies.

Vinayaka Mission’s Research Foundation signed an MoU with Turiba University, Latvia, to promote international collaboration through student and faculty exchanges and joint academic initiatives.

Mahindra University’s School of Law partnered with Fox Mandal and Associates LLP to enhance industry-academia collaboration, with Fox Mandal as the title partner for the second International Tech-Law Moot Court Competition.

IIT Mandi signed an MoU with the Defence Institute of High-Altitude Research for joint research and manpower training.
