Two tribal students were allegedly assaulted by the head master after they reportedly complained about the poor quality of food being served at their hostel for the past few days. The incident took place on Thursday (February 5) at the Government Tribal Boys Ashram School in Darakonda Panchayat of GK Veedhi mandal in Alluri Sitharama Raju district. According to reports, the students informed head master Hemachandra about the substandard food, following which he allegedly beat them up. After learning about the incident, the parents rushed to the school and shifted the injured students to a hospital for medical treatment. The incident has triggered strong criticism from various tribal organisations, which have condemned the alleged assault and demanded strict action against those responsible. Sub Inspector of Sileru Police Station Yasin said that they have not received any complaint from the parents. But they enquired into the incident and came to know that it was only one boy who was assaulted. Details are yet to be ascertained.
