Minister for Transport and Backward Classes Welfare Ponnam Prabhakar has termed the BJP’s reported decision to rope in the Jana Sena Party president and Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister K Pawan Kalyan for the civic poll campaign in Telangana as an “opportunistic” move. “Voters should think over the BJP’s move to rope in Mr Pawan Kalyan, who made disrespectful remarks against people of Telangana recently,” he said while addressing a public meeting at Gumlapur in Choppadandi on Thursday. He alleged that the BJP-led government at the Centre showed discrimination against Telangana in the Union Budget-2026. This is for the second time in a row that the State had been meted out a raw deal in budgetary allocations, he charged.
