Energy Minister Gottipati Ravi Kumar announced on Thursday that the majority of the 200 new substations being constructed across the State are nearing completion. Mr. Ravi Kumar inaugurated two 33/11 kV substations built at a cost of ₹2.61 crore at Mandapeta and Teki villages in the Mandapeta Assembly constituency.

Addressing the gathering, the Minister said: “Works worth ₹175 crore are ongoing in East Godavari district to improve the power infrastructure and ensure nine hours of free quality power supply to farmers and 24-hour uninterrupted power supply for domestic use.”

He claimed that nearly 75,000 new agricultural power connections have been granted since the alliance was voted to power. “Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has set a target to reduce electricity charges by ₹1.19 per unit before the next Assembly elections,” added Mr. Ravi Kumar.

Earlier in the morning, Mr. Ravi Kumar directed officials to complete all power sector works in the East Godavari district within the stipulated timeline for the Godavari Pushkarams-2027. “Land has been identified for new substations for the Pushkarams”, he claimed.
