As many as 695 pilgrims from the erstwhile Hyderabad State were selected for free accommodation at the Nizam’s Rubath in Makkah during Hajj 2026; this follows the draw of lots held on Thursday at the Chowmahalla Palace. The Qurrah (draw of lots) was conducted digitally by the Awqaf Committee H.E.H. The Nizam in coordination with the Telangana State Haj Committee. The Awqaf Committee conducts the draw annually to allot accommodation at the Rubaths established by the Nizams of Hyderabad as a charitable endowment for pilgrims from the former Hyderabad State. The facility provides free and secure accommodation in Makkah during Hajj. In 2025, as many as 710 pilgrims availed themselves of the Rubath facility. This year’s beneficiaries were selected from among pilgrims domiciled in the erstwhile Hyderabad State.
