The Village Revenue Assistant (VRA) of Obanapalli village was allegedly attacked in the late hours of Wednesday (February 04, 2026) near Chitvel bridge in Railway Kodur. The official, identified as Kanaparthi Mani, was on his way home when he was waylaid by unidentified persons , who hurled chilli powder into his face and brutally attacked him with a knife. When Mr. Mani raised an alarm, nearby residents rushed to the spot to help. However, the miscreants fled the spot. Mr. Mani was rushed to the local Government Hospital and later shifted to Tirupati for better treatment. Railway Kodur police registered a case and retrieved the CCTV footage from the nearby localities.
