Tirunelveli District Police News channel launched

A YouTube channel – Tirunelveli District Police News – has been launched by the district police here..

In a statement, Superintendent of Police V. Prassannakumar, who launched the channel on Wednesday, said the channel would ensure transparency in policing through sharing of all information pertaining to crimes that took place in the district, action taken by the police, awareness programmes on road traffic regulations, cyber crime, crime against women and children, drug abuse and so on.

The police would convey to the public about the dos and don’ts of being responsible and law-abiding citizens. Video and audio posts by the police would be carried on the channel.

Special information would be posted regularly for the younger generation, especially students, to safeguard themselves from stalking, harassment, sexual abuse, alcohol, drugs, cyber crime, POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) on the channel, the first-ever attempt by any district police in Tamil Nadu
