Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development P. Narayana on Thursday (February 05) conducted a field inspection of key infrastructure projects in Amaravati capital region and instructed contractors to complete the works strictly as per the approved schedule. During his visit, the Minister reviewed the construction of the steel bridge connecting the Seed Access Road with the National Highway. He also inspected the bridge being built across the Guntur Channel to link it with the Seed Access Road. Stressing the importance of timely execution, Mr. Narayana directed representatives of the contracting agencies to expedite the works and ensure that both bridges are completed at the earliest without compromising quality standards. The Minister later inspected the ongoing works on the Vijayawada West Bypass road. Officials informed him that the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has already permitted vehicular movement on one side of the bypass. Narayana noted that once traffic is allowed on both sides of the West Bypass, it would significantly improve connectivity to the capital city, enabling smoother and more direct access from major cities such as Guntur and Visakhapatnam. Emphasising the government’s commitment to the planned development of Amaravati, the Minister said that infrastructure projects are being taken up in a phased and systematic manner. He underlined that timely completion of roads and bridges is crucial for easing traffic congestion and enhancing regional connectivity.
