Environment Minister Manjinder Sirsa on Wednesday said the Delhi–Varanasi High-Speed Rail Corridor and allocation for the electric vehicle (EV) sector in the Union Budget will help to reduce air pollution in the national capital.

“Delhi has to be made pollution-free and the allocation of ₹5,000 crore for the EV sector will accelerate clean mobility. In the near future, you will see a significant reduction in pollution due to the EV sector,” Mr. Sirsa said.

He said that the High-Speed Rail Corridor will significantly boost connectivity while reducing carbon emissions.“By increasing Delhi’s borrowing capacity to ₹21,000 crore, the Central government has given a strong push to our infrastructure and development agenda. This will give a big boost to Delhi’s development,” The Minister said.
