LAWRENCE — Kansas baseball has climbed back into the top 25 of the USA TODAY Sports baseball coaches poll on Monday, and now sits at No. 25.

The Jayhawks (35-10, 15-6 in Big 12) are currently on an eight-game winning streak, including a three-game sweep this past weekend on the road in Big 12 Conference play against Utah. This past week also included a win on the road against Nebraska. Coach Dan Fitzgerald and company continue to work toward earning a NCAA regional appearance this season.

This upcoming week features four games for Kansas, all at home inside Hoglund Ballpark. First, there’s a game Tuesday against rival Missouri. Then, this upcoming weekend, there’s a three-game series against Cincinnati.

As the regular season winds to a close during the month of May, the Jayhawks continue to put themselves in a position not just to reach the NCAA tournament but potentially host a regional. They continue to put themselves in position to compete for a Big 12 championship. KU doesn’t lack momentum, and can garner even more if it can continue to string together some success in the days ahead.
