The opposition party’s dig came after Mr. Trump, responding to a question, told reporters while travelling on Air Force One, “China is welcome to come in and we’ll make a great deal on oil. We welcome China.” “We’ve already made a deal. India is coming in, and they’re going to be buying Venezuelan oil as opposed to buying it from Iran. So, we’ve already made that deal, the concept of the deal,” Mr. Trump said. Congress general secretary in-charge communications Jairam Ramesh shared the audio of Mr. Trump’s remarks on X. “He [Mr. Trump] told us Op Sindoor had been halted. He told us India had stopped buying Russian oil. And now this,” the Congress leader said. “President Trump continues to give us information on what our own government has done or will be doing,” Mr. Ramesh said on X. He told us Op Sindoor had been halted. He told us India had stopped buying Russian oil. And now this. President Trump continues to give us information on what our own Govt has done or will be doing. pic.twitter.com/94nVXbK9FX — Jairam Ramesh (@Jairam_Ramesh) February 1, 2026 Published – February 01, 2026 10:21 am IST Share this: Click to share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window) WhatsApp Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) Facebook Click to share on Threads (Opens in new window) Threads Click to share on X (Opens in new window) X Click to share on Telegram (Opens in new window) Telegram Click to share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window) LinkedIn Click to share on Pinterest (Opens in new window) Pinterest Click to email a link to a friend (Opens in new window) Email More Click to print (Opens in new window) Print Click to share on Reddit (Opens in new window) Reddit Click to share on Tumblr (Opens in new window) Tumblr Click to share on Pocket (Opens in new window) Pocket Click to share on Mastodon (Opens in new window) Mastodon Click to share on Nextdoor (Opens in new window) Nextdoor Click to share on Bluesky (Opens in new window) Bluesky Like this:Like Loading...
