The Economic Survey 2025–26, tabled earlier this week in the Parliament, stands as irrefutable evidence of Telangana’s all-round progress, economic performance, transparency in governance and the effectiveness of the people’s government under Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, IT and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu said on Saturday, lashing out at those resorting to what he called misinformation campaign about the State.

The survey is not merely a compilation of numbers, it is a comprehensive progress report showcasing Telangana’s development to the world, the Minister said, adding it has decisively dismantled the propaganda to tarnish the Telangana brand and questioning the government’s integrity.

“By officially recognising our revolutionary reforms, technology-driven governance, anti-corruption measures and commitment to transparency and good governance, the survey vividly presents the narrative of Telangana Rising,” he said.

Noting that the State government has demonstrated through action that development is not rhetoric but about enhancing people’s quality of life, he said “we will examine best practices cited from other States, the challenges identified in the survey and all constructive recommendations and take appropriate action.”

Mr. Sridhar Babu said Telangana is not dependent solely on Central grants or borrowings. The survey highlights that the State generates substantial revenue through its own tax resources, demonstrating strong fiscal capacity and transparent financial management. “We are creating wealth, investing in welfare, and laying strong foundations for future generations,” he said.

A release from the Minister’s office on the survey, which is prepared by the Union Finance Ministry’s Department of Economic Affairs, said the document reaffirms Telangana’s emergence as a hub for global capability centres (GCCs) and progress as a global innovation hub. The State has once again demonstrated its strength in the IT and services sector. It is one of the four States contributing nearly 40% of India’s services output — Maharashtra, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu being others. In the emerging Gen-AI startup ecosystem, Telangana ranks fourth nationally, with a 7% share. Competing with Bengaluru and Delhi, Hyderabad has become a preferred destination for startups, as per the survey.

The survey commended the industrial reforms undertaken in the State and noted the restrictions on women’s working hours, allowing them to work safely across industries and all shifts, including 24/7 operations, Mr. Sridhar Babu said, speaking on the women’s safety and welfare as well as youth employment initiatives of Telangana government.

Stating that the pharma clusters have come in for praise, he said “our vision is not to limit Hyderabad to IT alone, but to develop it as a global hub across sectors. He also cited how the survey takes note of the various initiatives in Telangana, including the ‘Smart Tribal Farming’, which brings technology to remote tribal regions, empowering marginal farmers and promoting inclusive economic growth. “Through the Bhu Bharati portal, integrating revenue, stamps and registration departments, we brought unprecedented transparency to land records. The Centre officially recognised the digital protection of landowners’ rights under our government,” he said.
