Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu addressing the public meeting at Thulasinayanapalle near Kuppam in Chittoor district on Saturday. Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday unveiled an ambitious development roadmap for the Kuppam Assembly constituency in Chittoor district, with a strong focus on public health, sustainable agriculture, renewable energy, irrigation, industrial growth, skill development and tourism. Addressing a public meeting from the Praja Vedika at Thulasinayanapalle village in Shantipuram mandal, the Chief Minister announced the launch of the Sanjeevani Project, a technology-driven public health initiative aimed at improving access to quality medical services. He said the project had already been implemented on a pilot basis in Kuppam and would be rolled out across Andhra Pradesh in 2026. Under the initiative, patients would be able to book doctor appointments through mobile phones, ensuring timely consultations and standardised medical care. The programme would also focus on public awareness and preventive healthcare, he added. He also launched NTR Bharosa pension scheme. Mr. Naidu called for a shift towards organic farming, cautioning that excessive use of chemical fertilisers has long-term adverse implications for public health. He appealed to stakeholders in the agriculture sector to improve food quality as part of a broader strategy to reduce disease burden and healthcare expenditure. The Chief Minister said the government was promoting rooftop solar systems to reduce household electricity expenses and ease the overall power burden. He reiterated that developing Kuppam as a model constituency through coordinated infrastructure planning was a top priority. Highlighting irrigation initiatives, Mr. Naidu said Krishna river water was being supplied through the Handri-Neeva project, improving water availability for agriculture in the region. He said link canals and water tanks would be designed to maximise rainwater utilisation and warned that strict action would be taken against encroachments obstructing natural water flows. Emphasising the importance of industrial development, the Chief Minister said the Industrial Park in Kuppam would bring transformative changes in employment and economic empowerment. Investments worth ₹7,088 crore had already been secured, with 16 industries coming up in the constituency. These projects are expected to generate about 34,000 direct jobs and nearly 70,000 indirect employment opportunities, significantly reducing migration by creating jobs locally, he said. To enhance employability among students and youth, Mr. Naidu said a multi-skilled development centre had been launched in partnership with the Aditya Birla Group in Kuppam. The centre would train local youth, while co-working spaces had also been created to enable professionals from different sectors to work locally. Tourism is another focus area, the Chief Minister said, adding that Kangundi village would be developed as a major tourist destination. Initiatives such as the Kuppam Flower Festival and promotion of homestays are expected to boost tourism-linked livelihoods. Mr. Naidu said the NDA government was committed to strengthening entrepreneurship. Initiatives such as One Family–One Entrepreneur, empowerment of DWCRA women groups and promotion of Farmer Producer Organisations are aimed at expanding income opportunities, he added.
