Madurai City Traffic Police have announced traffic regulations for Teppam festival of Meenakshi Sundareswarar Temple to be held on Sunday, February 1. The regulations would be in force between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. and between 3 p.m. and till the end of the festival. No vehicle would be allowed from Anna Nagar towards Teppakulam via PTR Bridge. People can park their vehicles on Vaigai River North Bank Road and reach Teppakulam via PTR Bridge. Vehicles proceeding towards Viraghanoor should go via Kuruvikkaran Salai and Vaigai River South Bank Road. TNSTC buses and other vehicles proceeding from Aavin junction and Kuruvikkaran Salai towards Viraghanoor should take Vaigai River South Bank Road. No vehicle would be allowed to go from Viraghanoor junction towards Teppakulam. All vehicles, including buses, should go via Vaigai River South Bank Road and reach Kuruvikkaran Salai. Devotees coming to witness the Teppam festival from Viraghanoor can park their vehicles on Vaigai River South Bank Road or near Old Ramanathapuram Road check post. Vehicles would not be allowed to proceed towards Viraghanoor on Kamarajar Salai from Kuruvikkaran Salai junction. Instead, they should go via Kuruvikkaran Salai and Vaigai South Bank Road. However, the vehicles of devotees could be parked on the road between Kuruvikkaran Salai junction and Teppakulam. A temporary bus stop has been set up at near Mohideen Andavar petrol bunk near 16-Pillar Hall. Similarly, no vehicle would be allowed towards Teppakulam from Anupanadi. Devotees can park their vehicles at Teachers Colony. Vehicles proceeding from Munichalai Road and Teppakulam towards Anupanadi should go via Munichalai junction, New Ramanathapuram Road and Gatelock Road.
