Three members of a family allegedly ended their lives on the outskirts of Charlapalli railway station in the early hours of Saturday (January 31, 2026). The deceased were identified as Penaty Vijaya (38) a software employee, and her two children, Chetana Reddy (18), and Vishal Reddy (17), both students. The family lived in Harithavanam Colony in Changicherla, Boduppal. The incident was reported around 12.40 a.m. on the MMTS line near the kilometre marker 207/2, when a loco pilot of a passing goods train alerted railway authorities that three persons had been run over on the tracks. Police visited the spot and conducted a preliminary investigation. The bodies were shifted to the Gandhi Hospital mortuary for postmortem examination. Following a complainant by T. Jyothi, a deputy station superintendent, a case was booked by the Railway Protection Force, Secunderabad. Further investigation is under way to ascertain the reason behind this extreme step.
