Industries Minister T.R.B. Rajaa on Friday (January 30, 2026) said other States in the country need to emulate Tamil Nadu’s industrial growth, which focuses on excellence and inclusive growth.

Pointing to the Economic Survey 2025-2026, Mr. Rajaa posted on X: “The Economic Survey 2025-26 has put it on record: Tamil Nadu’s industrial growth is what the rest of India needs to emulate!”

“Being the number one State in India for manufacturing jobs, with 15% of the country’s manufacturing workforce, Tamil Nadu reflects our industrial depth, strong supplier networks, and the ability to turn investments into real, high-quality jobs,” he posted.

Stressing the need for setting examples of competitiveness, he said: “The Survey also recognises Tamil Nadu as an entrepreneurial State that builds ecosystems, not just isolated factories. The auto component base and the electronics cluster in Sriperumbudur stand out as national examples of how cluster-led growth creates scale, resilience, and competitiveness.”

“On reforms, Tamil Nadu continues to lead with fastest single-window clearances, digitised approvals, fastest project execution with stronger environmental compliance and liberalised construction laws, thus reducing friction and speeding up industrial and urban development.”

Highlighting key aspects of advances in industrial development of areas, Mr. Rajaa said: “Thoothukudi Port has been identified as one of India’s Green Hydrogen hubs, and the Medical Devices Park in Oragadam is highlighted for strengthening advanced manufacturing in a sunrise sector.”
