The lone Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) councillor Uma Anandan said that due to the cooperation of the DMK government it was possible to fulfil 80% of the promises she made to her voters.

At the council meeting on Friday at the Ripon Buildings, she thanked the DMK government, Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, Mayor Priya, and Minister for Health and Family Welfare Ma. Subramanian for their cooperation.

Of the remaining 20%, she said that her Ward 134 in T. Nagar had no park or community hall, and that a gym had remained closed for years due to legal complications. She added that there was no OSR land in her ward as well. Steps need to be taken to establish more outdoor spaces, especially for women, she said.

Further, she reiterated her request to name a lane in the city after BJP leader L.K. Advani, to which Deputy Mayor M. Magesh Kumaar said the State would consider it. She also enquired about the status of open spaces and OSRs acquired by and from the Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC), CMWSSB, and CMRL. She also suggested that, to regulate the licensing process for establishments like hostels, branch offices could be opened to expedite requests.
