Mayor V.V. Rajesh on Friday announced a pilot project of the Thiruvananthapuram Corporation to address the stray dog issue in the city. As a first step, 50 dogs were caught from various areas within the corporation’s borders and sterilised. The Mayor explained that various vaccinations, including rabies, were given and scientific care was ensured. He said that private individuals and organisations will be roped in for the effective implementation of the programme, including in the running of shelters.
