The Coimbatore District United Jamaath has announced that the holy Shab-e-Barat will be observed on the night of February 3, 2026 (Tuesday). In a release, Haji M.I. Muhammad Ali, General Secretary, Coimbatore District All Jamaath, said that the observance falls on the 15th night of the Islamic month of Sha’ban. The Tamil Nadu State Chief Kazi has confirmed that the first crescent of Sha’ban was sighted on January 21, based on which the Shab-e-Barat night begins on February 3 evening. All Sunnat Jamaath mosques across the district will recite Surah Yaseen three times after the Maghrib prayer, followed by special prayers. Religious discourses will be held after the Isha prayer, focusing on ethical conduct, unity, and adherence to Islamic teachings. Fasting will be observed on Wednesday, February 4. Fasting on the preceding and following days is also considered meritorious, the release added.
