The Varanasi-Ernakulam (No.04358) special train operated via Salem, Erode, Tiruppur, Coimbatore and Podanur by the Railways in view of Magha Mahotsavam at Thirunavaya in Malappuram District of Kerala departed on Friday at 4.30 a.m. with scheduled arrival time at 10 p.m. at the destination on February 1.

The train is scheduled to reach Salem at 12.35 p.m. on February 1, and pass through Erode (1.40 p.m.), Tiruppur (3.38 p.m.), Coimbatore (4 p.m.) and Podanur (4.28 p.m.), a press release issued by Southern Railway said.

In the return direction, the special train (No. 04358) will be operated from Ernakulam station at 8 p.m. on February 3, and reach Varanasi at 3 p.m. on February 6.

In Salem Division, the train will reach Podanur at 00.48 a.m. on February 4, and pass through Coimbatore Junction (1.30 a.m.), Tiruppur (2.38 a.m.), Erode (3.50 a.m.), and Salem (5 a.m.).

Weekly special train service extended: The Tirunelveli-Mettupalayam weekly (No. 06030) special train service has been extended from February 1 to 22.

The train departs at 7 p.m. on Sundays to reach Mettupalayam at 7.30 a.m.

In the return direction, the Mettupalayam-Tirunelveli special train (No. 06029) will depart at 7.45 p.m. on Mondays and reach Tirunelveli at 8.05 a.m. the next day.

Revised arrival/departure timings of the train (No.06029) at railway stations between Tenkasi and Tirunelveli: Tenkasi Junction – 5.30/5.40 a.m., Pavuchatram (5.58/6.00 a.m.), Kizhakadaiyam (6.13/ 6.15 a.m.), Ambasamudram (6.30/ 6.32 a.m.), Kallidaikurichi (6.41/ 6.42 a.m.), Cheranmahadevi (7.08/7.10 a.m.).
