Collector V. Saravanan on Friday launched the awareness programme against substance abuse among the drivers of the State-owned corporation and private buses, autorickshaw drivers, and others. As part of the initiative, Mr. Saravanan, accompanied by Commissioner of Police N. Kamini, distributed stickers to the drivers at Kalaigner Karunanidhi Integrated Bus Terminus in Panjapur. The stickers were pasted on the buses and autorickshaws prominently to disseminate the awareness against drug addiction and bringing down the accidents caused by drinking and driving. The Collector and the Commissioner distributed pamphlets prepared by the Regional Transport authorities on safe driving and disciplined driving among the people.
