A nine-year-old girl student died and four other students survived with major injuries after an autorickshaw, in which nine Kendriya Vidyalaya students were travelling, was hit by a lorry on the national highway in Kakinada Rural Mandal in Kakinada district on Thursday, (January 29, 2026) The incident occurred while a group of Kendriya Vidyalaya students were on their way to school in the morning. In an official release, Kakinada In-Charge District Collector Apoorva Bharat has stated; “K. Lakshya Iswarya (9) of Kakinada city has died while undergoing medical treatment, while the other four students have survived with injuries in the accident”. The police registered a case and the investigation is on. Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament Sana Satish has visited Government General Hospital and assured better medical treatment to the injured students.
