The foundation stone for a new zonal office building in the Alandur zone of the Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC) was laid on Thursday. Municipal Administration and Water Supply Minister K.N. Nehru and Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises Minister T.M. Anbarasan inaugurated the project. According to a press release, the building will be constructed at a cost of ₹32.74 crore on Puthu Street in Ward 160 of the Alandur zone. The 8,798 sq.mt. office building will have a basement, a ground floor and four floors above. Chennai Mayor R. Priya, Deputy Mayor M. Magesh Kumaar, and officials were present.
