Cash seized by the ACB from an office subordinate working in Renigunta Sub-Registrar Office, in Tirupathi district on Thursday. The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) booked a home guard for allegedly leaking information on the movements of ACB teams and searches to corrupt officers. The accused, identified as Netti Srinivasa Rao, reportedly leaked information on the surprise searches conducted by the ACB on sub-registrar offices in November last year, according to the ACB. Srinivasa Rao joined police in Vizianagaram district as a home guard in 2010 and was later deputed to the ACB. In June 2025, he was repatriated to the Vizianagaram police, but the ACB kept a tab on Srinivasa Rao and learnt that the was tipping officials under ACB’s radar off that surprise searches would be conducted. Subsequently, the ACB searched the properties of Srinivasa Rao in Visakhapatnam and Vizianagaram districts. He owned two flats, a building, four house sites, 23 cents of agriculture land, several gold and silver ornaments, ₹7 lakh in bank balance, ₹60,000 cash and a car. A case of disproportionate assets has been registered against him under the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988. He would be produced before the ACB Special Court in Visakhapatnam. Further searches are on, the ACB said on Thursday. SRO staffer booked The ACB arrested an office subordinate, Grade-II, at the Sub-Registrar’s Office, Renigunta, Tirupathi district, for allegdly accumulating assets disproportionate to the legal sources of income. The accused was under suspension. During searches in Tirupati and Nellore districts, the ACB unearthed 11 immovable properties, including house sites, flats and buildings; gold ornaments weighing about 1.472 kg; 8.77 kg of silver; ₹15.26 lakh cash; and a car. The accused would be produced before the ACB Special Court in Nellore, the ACB officials said in a release on Thursday.
