The two JACs leaders Saibabu, Johnson, P. Ratnakar, Shivaji, Sridhar, B.C. Reddy and others demanded immediate stopping of the general transfer taken up all the four power utilities, two Discoms, Genco and Transco, and take up the exercise in June/July as is done regularly, revise the condition of minimum service at a place to three years from two years for transfers and issue transfer guidelines only after discussing them with the unions. They stated that they had staged ‘maha dharna’ (protest) after they failed to get any response from the managements on the demands and the dharna was the first of the serious of protest programmes planned by them. They said they would take up relay fasts at all corporate offices and circle offices in districts by wearing black badges.
