The YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) leaders announced a “Chalo Delhi” campaign on Sunday to pressure the Central government and to hold the coalition administration accountable following the recent murder of Manda Salman (a YSRCP party worker) in Pinnelli village of Guntur district. The announcement came during a memorial programme organised by the party at Salman’s village, where they paid tributes and express solidarity with his family.

State YSRCP leaders accused the coalition government of neglecting Dalit communities, alleging attacks on Dr. B.R. Ambedkar statues and other targeted assaults reflecting a broader pattern of systemic discrimination. They condemned the police for complicity and inaction, emphasising that justice must be served to the slain youth and his family.

Several senior party leaders, including Tirupati MP Maddila Gurumoorthy, former MP Nandigam Suresh, and former ministers Mekatoti Sucharita and Merugu Nagarjuna, addressed the gathering. They pledged to continue the fight for justice through courts and at the national level, and urged a CBI investigation into the murder and strict punishment for the perpetrators.

The memorial meeting also highlighted the displacement of over 300 families from Pinnelli and surrounding villages due to fear of targeted attacks, underscoring the deteriorating law-and-order situation.

Party leaders called for restoration of peace, rehabilitation of affected families, and measures to prevent future attacks on marginalised communities.

The event concluded with a massive rally at Salman’s portrait, with the YSRCP leaders reaffirming their commitment towards protecting vulnerable communities and combating systemic oppression. Party leaders vowed to continue supporting the bereaved family until justice is delivered.
