Chief General Manager (Human Resources and Industrial Relations) at Electrosteel Castings Limited in Srikalahasti, Dorai Rauj, appealed to the college students to equip themselves with soft skills required to scale high in the corporate world.

The book ‘College to Corporate’ authored by Mr. Dorai Rauj was released by Central Sahitya Akademi awardee Madhurantakam Narendra at a function organised by Tirupati Rachayitala Sangham, here on Sunday. The book is a compilation of his 25 articles published in vernacular dailies for the benefit of young readers.

Mr. Dorai Rauj spoke on leadership, time management, team work, body language, self-confidence, accountability and multi-tasking among various issues.

Meanwhile, Mr. Madhurantakam Narendra commented on the tips given by the author in his book as ‘practical in nature’ and opined that it would a boon for rural students who generally struggle to compete with their urban counterparts.

Pointing out the huge difference between the academic knowledge gained in college and the skills required to sustain in the industry, senior journalist R.M. Umamaheswara Rao wanted ‘effective storytelling’ to become the new media to explain skills.

Communist leader Kandharapu Murali spoke on the employment scenario seen in the corporate world, especially in the IT and technical sector, and wanted the youth to reskill themselves to stay secure in their jobs.

Writers Thota Venkateswarlu, R.C. Krishnaswamy Raju, V. Krishnaveni, G. Ramesh Babu and AIR Tirupati station’s former Director A. Malleswara Rao also took part.
