A free mega medical camp organised by the Sri Sathya Sai District Police in association with KIMS Savera Hospital saw overwhelming participation of the public from rural areas on Sunday at the Zilla Parishad High School at C.K. Palli mandal headquarters.

Residents from Ramagiri, Kanaganapalli, and CK Palli mandals gathered in large numbers to avail the specialised healthcare services. Superintendent of Police S. Satish Kumar inaugurated the camp and supervised the arrangements to ensure its smooth conduct including providing food, drinking water and shaded waiting areas, to ensure no inconvenience was caused to the attendees.

Doctors conducted screening and consultations for cardiac ailments, orthopaedic problems, diabetes, blood pressure, thyroid disorders, ECG, eye, and dental issues. Free medicines were distributed, while high-cost diagnostic services, including ECG, were provided free of cost.

Interacting with the villagers, the SP said that the initiative was aimed at reaching rural and economically weaker sections who often find it difficult to travel to cities such as Anantapur, Bengaluru, Vellore, Chennai and Hyderabad for medical and surgical care. He added that the camp helped identify patients requiring advanced care, including cardiac, eye, and dental surgeries, which will be facilitated locally.
