The city police has suspended two police officials for falsely implicating a woman in an illicit liquor sale case. A senior official said the Mylapore police arrested a 35-year-old woman named Vanitha, a resident of Pidari Amman Koil Street, for possessing and selling illicit liquor in December last year. However, during investigation, it was found that three police officials including Selvakumar, Prahalathan, and Vinoth, had instigated a person to place a can of illicit liquor along with the water cans being sold by Vanitha. The police found the three police officials were angry with Vanitha for not helping her find some persons involved in the sale of drugs in the locality. While Selvakumar and Prahalathan have been suspended, Vinoth has been placed in the waiting list.
