Drunk man kills cat at Tasmac bar in Theni district

In a shocking incident, a drunk man killed a cat by flinging it repeatedly against the wall and floor at a Tasmac bar on Andipatti-Theppapatti Road under Rajathani police station limits.

The police said that when a group of friends were drinking liquor, Kannan of South Mooanandipatti caught a cat that was roaming inside the bar.

He violently threw the cat against a wall. Even as his friends were warning him, the drunk man picked up the cat, that was writhing in pain, and again hurled it on the floor.

The cat died on the spot.

When the bar employee, Chandrasekaran questioned him, the friends had assaulted him. When another worker, Chellapandi, tried to pacify them, he too was beaten up.

The injured workers were admitted to Theni Government Medical College hospital.

Based on a complaint by Chandrasekan, Rajathani police have arrested one Naveen, and were on the lookout for the other two.
