A 24-year-old autorickshaw driver was sentenced to five-year rigorous imprisonment for illegal possession and transportation of ganja. The Sangareddy court on Wednesday slapped a fine of ₹25,000 on the accused. The accused was identified as MD Siraj, a resident of Fatehnagar in Jogipet village and mandal of Sangareddy district. The case dates to 2019 when the District Task Force of Sangareddy nabbed him and seized 1.5 kilograms of dry ganja during a route watch.
