A 22-year-old man was killed and another was injured after their motorcycle lost control and rammed a tree at Maisammaguda in Petbasheerabad in the early hours of Tuesday. The deceased was identified as Akkinapalli Sujit, 22, a resident of Maisammaguda, and a native of Vemulawada mandal of Rajanna Sircilla district. Police said he was riding pillion on a motorcycle driven by Chander Reddy, 22, a resident of Kukatpally and a native of Ramayapalli village in Karimnagar district. According to police, the two were travelling from Maisammaguda towards Apparel park at around 1 a.m. to meet a friend. While on the way, Chander allegedly lost control of the vehicle and crashed into the tree. Sujit sustained a severe head injury and died before he could be shifted to hospital. Chander sustained a leg injury and was shifted to a hospital for treatment. A case was booked by the Petbasheerabad police and further investigation is under way.
