Former Minister and YSR Congress Party leader Gudivada Amarnath has accused Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu of making political statements against the YSRCP instead of focusing on attracting investments to the State on international platforms.

Addressing a press conference at the YSRCP office on Tuesday, Mr. Amarnath criticised the ruling party’s approach during the Davos visit and alleged that Mr. Naidu was indulging in political marketing at an investors’ meet. He alleged that the Chief Minister and IT Minister Nara Lokesh were resorting to credit theft by laying foundation stones and inaugurating industries that had been finalised during the tenure of former Chief Minister Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, while projecting them as the present government’s achievements.

“Taking credit for everything is Mr. Naidu’s long-standing habit. He did the same in the case of the Shamshabad airport, the Outer Ring Road and now the Bhogapuram airport,” Mr. Amarnath said, demanding that the government make public the list of industries brought to the State over the last 18 months.

Mr. Amarnath also criticised the NDA government for maintaining silence over allegations that its leaders were organising obscene dance programmes during the Sankranti festival at various places in the State. He said such programmes had not been organised over the past three decades and questioned the kind of brand image a government projected if it encouraged such activities.
