Revanth says meeting Modi will continue in State’s interests

Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, in his native Mahbubnagar district, said his government prefers to have a working relationship with the Centre in the interests of the State, and he would not hesitate to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi or the Ministers any number of times.

The give and take policy with the Centre would continue irrespective of what the Opposition claims, he said while justifying his frequent visits to New Delhi for funds release. Petty politics shouldn’t hurt the State’s interests, he said addressing a public meeting in Mahbubnagar on Saturday. Mr. Modi would get respect as the Prime Minister of the country.

In yet another attack on BRS president K. Chandrashekhar Rao, he blamed the former CM for the backwardness of Mahbubnagar district despite he being a MP and also CM for 10 years. Palamuru Rangareddy project, Bhima, Nettempadu, Koil Sagar, Jurala and Kalwakurthi were not completed during the 10-year BRS regime, he alleged, adding that he would personally review progress in Mahabubnagar every three months.

“Mr. Chandrashekhar Rao is not my enemy but a political opponent. Why should I consider those confined to farmhouse as an enemy or an opponent,” he asked while stating that, “My enemies are backwardness and poverty. I would fight with them to eradicate poverty and develop the backward Palamuru district.”

The CM pointed out that ₹25,000 crore was spent on the Palamuru Rangareddy project but no compensation was paid to the displaced. The Congress government has now paid compensation and sanctioned funds for other works.

The CM also took a swipe at the BRS for not attending the debate on Palamuru Rangareddy project and irrigation projects in the Assembly. He said the government took the responsibility of completing all pending projects, including Palamuru, SLBC, Kodangal, and Narayanpet lift irrigation projects.

CM Revanth Reddy also alleged that the previous government weakened the women’s self-help groups by not giving loans. Now, the women groups were getting loans with zero interest.
